Love your neighbor. (Week 4 in San Leo.)

This week was special just because we had Zone conference; there I got to see some of my good friends from Guimba. (Guimba zone wasn’t there, but a lot of Guimba zone got transferred last transfer) That was fun. =)

Elder Bell and Elder Taimani relaxing and enjoying Jif peanut butter!

Then Elder Taimani had an interview with President Clark, the one interview he’s been waiting for. He leaves for like fifteen minutes and comes back with this huge smile on his face. Now, for those who don’t know, Elder Taimani was called as a missionary back in October 2014, and during his mission suffered a shoulder injury that required him to go back “home”.  He didn’t actually go home but he just went to the closest hospital to his home that could do his surgery. So he went to Oakland, California. From there he was home for ten months or so and after decided he wanted to return to the Philippines to finish his mission. So he did. While waiting for his visa, he served in the Tonga mission for three months; he then returned to the Philippines (note: he was not able to see all of his family in the hospital, only his mother and a few siblings) Currently he has been on his mission for (total) 27 months over the space of THREE YEARS covering the years 2014-2017.  Just as a reference, I was in my sophomore year of high school when he left. He has been telling me from the end of week 1 that he will be going home “in a week or two”. Now from the day he said this, it’s been 3 and a half weeks and he still hasn’t gone home. =) President Clark told him that he would be going home last Saturday or today. However, the Zone leaders told us, when we played basketball with them this morning, that he will be staying till Wednesday for sure. So he has maybe a week, or five, but based on his record (he has had three interviews now sooo…) I can’t be sure when he is finally gonna go home. =)  He is a great companion and I’ve learned a lot from him, and I’ll be sad when he leaves. I’ll let you guys know if he’s still here next Monday.

Going to play basketball on P-day.

Other than that this week has been pretty much the same with a few little bumps just like any other week really. Will write next Monday!
